It is known to all with the increase of age,the internal organs in
the body will slow down its working speed, kidneys are also
included, among which glomerular filtration rate also decrease as people
grow older.According to the related researches, for the female aging from
18-39,their rate of getting kidney diseases is
18%,while for the
60-70 female, this rate will increase to
24.2%. Those data indicate that there is a great chance of getting
chronic kidney diseases for the elderly.
Chronic kidney disease are caused and induced by many other diseases
such as the so called senile diseases like hypertension, coronary heart
disease, diabetes, osteoarthropathy in the elderly, senile skin
pruritus, hyperlipidaemia and so on. Those senile diseases are the main
symptoms that induce
chronic kidney diseases. As the physical function
in the elderly is gradually aging, those senile diseases will lead to
pathological changes in the body and therewith increase the possibility
of getting the diseases.
What should the elderly do when they have chronic kidney diseases?
According to the research, the death rate of the elderly who have chronic kidney diseases is 17.6%,
one of the main reasons for which is that they do not know they have been caught by the kidney diseases, and
another
is that they are reluctant to be on dialysis. For the first kind, the
main reason why they do not know they have got kidney disease is that
the kidney problems are caused by those so called senile diseases, and
they are taking the medicines to treat their senile diseases,as a result
of which, the optimal treatment time is missed and they do not know
anything until they have been diagnosed with
renal failure.Another
situation which lead to high death rate in the elderly is that they do
not want to be on dialysis.According to the surveys, for the patients
aging from 80 to 84 ,the survival time is about 16 months after
dialysis, the time for the 85 to 89 is 12 months( those statistic values
show the maximum and the minimum. Though the majority of them begin to
die in 6 months, there are many who survive for years.)
