Why People Get Kidney Stone?

Kidney sone become a common disease in daily life. So why so many people get kidney stone?
Kidney stones form when your urine contains more crystal-forming substances — such as calcium, oxalate and uric acid — than the fluid in your urine can dilute. At the same time, your urine may lack substances that keep crystals from sticking together, creating an ideal environment for kidney stones to form.
It isn't exactly clear what causes kidney stones to form in some people and not others. Usually it requires concentrated urine that allows minerals like calcium to come in close contact with each other. Changes in the acid-base balance (pH) of the urine, how concentrated it is, and the concentration of minerals and chemicals within the urine are all factors that can begin the formation of a stone.
Crystals can form the beginning of the stone and eventually grow large enough to cause problems. Concentrated urine often occurs during an episode of dehydration, setting the stage for the beginning of stone formation. The consequences of that stone, when it is large enough to cause an obstruction, may occur weeks, months, or years later.
If you have some or all of the following symptoms, you need to go doctor immediately to found out whether you are suffering Kidney Stone.

What Causes HIGH Creatinine Level

What is creatinine?
Your body produces a substance called creatine to store energy. When the creatine metabolizes it produces a waste know as creatinine. When the creatinine is released, it is carried into the kidneys and flushed out through urine.
Creatinine is a by-product of the filtration of the blood. This is a nitrous acid is produced by the kidneys and is stored in muscle cells.
normal blood creatinine levels :
1.in adult men:approximately 0.6 to 1.2 mg/dl(milligrams/deciliter)
2.in adult women:approximately 0.5 to 1.1 mg/dl
3.in a person with only one kidney:approximately 1.8 to 1.9
4.infants:approximately 0.2 to 1.2 mg/dl depending upon their muscle development
5.children:approximately 0.3 to 0.7 mg/dl depending upon their muscle development
6.teenagers:approximately 0.5 to 1.0 mg/dl depending upon their muscle development
Causes of high creatinine levels:
1. Dehydration or inadequate water intake such as high fever, sweating, diuresis can cause blood concentration and reduced blood flow in the kidneys. Creatinine will increase.
2. Over-tiredness, lack of rest can cause elevation of creatinine level.
3. Urine abnormalities such as long term hematuria, proteinuria can be accompanied by high creatinine.
4. Intake of drugs that have renal toxicity can cause high creatinine which can even be irreversible.
5. If renal dysfunction patients have infections such as cold, pneumonia, intestinal infection, urinary tract infections can increase creatinine level in short time.
6. Badly controlled high blood pressure can cause high creatinine.

7. Kidney disease patients with recurrent illness conditions can have high creatinine levels.

How is Chronic Kidney Disease treated?

Make changes in your diet
. Limit fluids.
. A low-protein diet.
. Restrict salt, potassium, phosphorous, and other electrolytes.
. It is important to get enough calories when you are losing weight.
. Eat meal that is low in fat and cholesterol.
. Avoid eating too much salt or potassium.
Controlling blood pressure
.Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) are used most often.
.The goal is to keep blood pressure at or below 130/80 mmHg
Dialysis or a kidney transplant
.When you start dialysis depends on different factors, including your lab test results, severity of symptoms, and readiness.
.You should begin to prepare for dialysis before you need it. Learn about dialysis and the types of dialysis therapies, and how a dialysis access is placed.
.Even people who are candidates for a kidney transplant may need dialysis while waiting for a kidney to become available.
Other tips
.Do not smoke
.Get regular exercises (talk to your doctor or nurse before starting to exercise).
.Take drugs to lower your cholesterol, if needed.
.Keep your blood sugar under control.

What are Symptoms of Urinary Calculus?

●Dysuria. Urinary calculus would cause incompletely urinary tract obstruction, make the urine line thinner, bifurcation and weakness and be accompanied with urinary frequency, urgency and dribbling. For secondary urethral calculus, due to its suddenly being embedded within the urinary tract, it would lead to suddenly interrupted urination, strong micturition desire and bladder tenesmus, and cause acute urinary retention.

●Pain. It is a common symptom of urinary calculus, and about 90% of patients would suffer from pain. Half of the patients would have sharp cramps, and the other half of patients would have waist or abdominal dull pain. The onset of cramps is sudden, and it would be unbearable in several minutes. Patients are usually dysphoric, roll in the bed and could not lie on their backs quietly. The pain usually radiates to the pubis, groin and perineum down through the ureter. The pain may be temperate or bouts, or stop suddenly after continuous several hours. But the dull pain may last for several days.
●Blood in the urine. It is generally characterized by microscopic hematuria, and some patients are with naked eye hematuria.
●The bladder irritation symptom. Though the urinary bladder wall calculus could lead to urinary frequency, urgency, urine pain and other symptoms, these symptoms may be caused by that the lower ureteral muscles are connected to the trigone muscle and that they are attached to the posterior urethra directly.
Gastrointestinal symptom. Most patients would suffer from gastrointestinal symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting and abdominal distension. For patients without obvious cramps, these gastrointestinal symptoms may be misdiagnosed.
So if we have these symptoms in life, we need to have a timely check in hospital so as not to delay the best treatment time.

How Should Diabetes Patients Control Blood Sugar?

http://www.sos-kidney.com/Symptom/FAQ/920.html

Once you are diagnosed as Diabetic, it is dangerous to assume that diet and exercise alone can help you manage your blood sugar. If you are disciplined, then a doctor could agree that minimal medication is all that you need. It is not advised that a diagnosed diabetic to take charge of managing his or her blood sugar with diet and exercise alone.

Here are some suggestions for diabetic nephropathy to control the blood sugar.
·Control the intake of sugar. Patients should control the intake of high sugar food and heat strictly. Elevated blood sugar would cause fat and cholesterol metabolism abnormal and influence glomerular function, even makes the glomerular function loss function. So patients should control the intake of sugar strictly.
·Control the intake of salt. Limiting salt is very helpful for protecting the kidney; low salt could decrease the burden of kidney. The specific regulation should according to patients’ conditions.
·Limit the intake of potassium and protein. Patients should be restricted to high potassium foods.
In life, patients should pay more attention to their living habits and at the same time do exercise properly.

Why the Elderly are Liable to Get Chronic Kidney Disease?

http://www.sos-kidney.com/Symptom/FAQ/991.html

It is known to all with the increase of age,the internal organs in the body will slow down its working speed, kidneys are also included, among which glomerular filtration rate also decrease as people grow older.According to the related researches, for the female aging from 18-39,their rate of getting kidney diseases is 18%,while for the 60-70 female, this rate will increase to 24.2%. Those data indicate that there is a great chance of getting chronic kidney diseases for the elderly.

Chronic kidney disease are caused and induced by many other diseases such as the so called senile diseases like hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes, osteoarthropathy in the elderly, senile skin pruritus, hyperlipidaemia and so on. Those senile diseases are the main symptoms that induce chronic kidney diseases. As the physical function in the elderly is gradually aging, those senile diseases will lead to pathological changes in the body and therewith increase the possibility of getting the diseases.

What should the elderly do when they have chronic kidney diseases?
According to the research, the death rate of the elderly who have chronic kidney diseases is 17.6%,one of the main reasons for which is that they do not know they have been caught by the kidney diseases, and another is that they are reluctant to be on dialysis. For the first kind, the main reason why they do not know they have got kidney disease is that the kidney problems are caused by those so called senile diseases, and they are taking the medicines to treat their senile diseases,as a result of which, the optimal treatment time is missed and they do not know anything until they have been diagnosed with renal failure.Another situation which lead to high death rate in the elderly is that they do not want to be on dialysis.According to the surveys, for the patients aging from 80 to 84 ,the survival time is about 16 months after dialysis, the time for the 85 to 89 is 12 months( those statistic values show the maximum and the minimum. Though the majority of them begin to die in 6 months, there are many who survive for years.)

Pregnant woman with protein urine

http://www.sos-kidney.com/Symptom/FAQ/186.html

Usually there will be no protein or just little in the urine of a pregnant woman. If the expectant mother is ill or the urine sample is taken incorrectly, the protein will appear in the urine. There are factors that can cause the protein urine.
Hypertensive disease in the pregnancy period
Edema, protein urine and hypertension are the main symptoms of the hypertensive disease during the pregnancy. If the edema or protein urine comes together with the hypertension, it is very possible to suffer from the hypertensive disease during the pregnancy period.
The mentioned disease only occurs in pregnancy. The incidence is 9.4% in China, and 7%-12% according to the foreign report.
Unreal protein urine
Due to the natural structure that the urethra is very close to the vagina, the urine can be easily contaminated by the secreta from the vagina, if the sample is taken incorrectly, that is why the protein appears in the urine.
To avoid the contamination, the urine sample should be the middle part.
Primary hypertension
The one, who is a hypertension sufferer or comes from the family with hypertension history, will be more likely to encounter the protein urine.
Kidney disease
The expectant mother has already been a kidney disease sufferer and the disease will get worse after pregnancy, because the pregnancy can speed up the metabolism and the blood circulation, then the kidney burden increased. Or the expectant mother is a latent nephritis sufferer and there is no symptom before pregnancy. In this case, the symptoms usually turn up in the middle or end period of the pregnancy, which should be diagnosed by the blood test.
